Registration open for 2026 Lawley 5K Fun Run

We are once again delighted to be organising the popular Lawley 5K Fun Run with partners Lawley Running Club and Lawley and Overdale Parish Council.

Following its most successful year to date in 2025, which saw more than 250 participants take part, this year’s event is expected to be even bigger. Taking place on Saturday 5th September, registration is now open and costs £6, with places available at: https://lawleyrunningclub.co.uk/lrc-events/lawley-5km-fun-run/

Open to all ages and abilities, the event offers a fun, inclusive and community-focused atmosphere. The route starts and finishes at Lawley’s War Memorial, opposite The Grazing Cow pub, and participants can choose to run, jog or walk the course.

Fancy dress is also encouraged, with prizes up for grabs for the best costumes. Previous years have seen a wide range of creative outfits, from dinosaurs and minions to Baywatch lifeguards and even George Cadbury.

Each year, the event raises funds for a chosen charity. In 2025, nearly £4,000 was raised for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide in memory of local resident Max Turton. This year, proceeds will support Severn Hospice, which provides free specialist care and support to families across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales living with incurable illness.
