Lawley Village Line Dancers nominated for national award
Posted on: 23 Jan 25
Congratulations to Lawley Village Line Dance Club and James (Jay) Haldron, Chair of Lawley Management Committee for being shortlisted in the UK Line Dance Awards 2024. They are the only group in Telford that have been nominated for UK Club of the Year 2024 and Community Instructor of the Year 2024.
The awards have been running for six years and winners will be announced at the end of February at a special line dancing weekend in Bournemouth.
James Haldron, chair of Lawley Management Committee said: “I was delighted to hear that the Lawley Village Line Dance Club had not only been nominated but also shortlisted, it’s a fantastic achievement for a relatively new club. The club only started in 2023, and we’ve been overwhelmed with its success, we’ve already expanded to having more classes as well as a second location.”
Dominique Jones, Lawley Village Line Dance Club member said: “I’m delighted Jay has been shortlisted as Community Instructor of the Year, he just makes the class and we’ll all be voting, and we hope all Lawley residents will, so hopefully he’ll come home with the title. Line dancing is great fun, no experience is necessary, and you make new friends too.”
Voting is taking place until 31st January and votes can be placed at https://uklda.com/
