A Meaningful Visit: Local Residents at the National Memorial Arboretum
Posted on: 23 Oct 25
Recently, a group of local residents enjoyed a memorable visit to the National Memorial Arboretum, the nation’s centre of remembrance. The trip was organised with the support of Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, following a request from members of the Armed Forces community who wanted the opportunity to pay tribute and reflect.
Remembering and Connecting
The Arboretum provides a tranquil and reflective space to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have served in the Armed Forces. Residents who joined the trip described the experience as “moving” and “uplifting,” with many appreciating the chance to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Support at the Heart of the Community
This trip is part of wider efforts to support the Armed Forces community locally. The Lawley Community Hub runs regular drop-in sessions for serving personnel, veterans, and their families. These sessions are supported by The Armed Forces Covenant, established in 2012 to show the commitment of local organisations to the Armed Forces.
