Free training opportunities for Lawley residents

Posted on: 12 Feb 26

We’re excited to be working in partnership with ANTA Community Training to offer free courses for Lawley residents, giving people the chance to gain recognised qualifications and build confidence for the future. This new project is funded by the Eileen Hewer Community Fund.

Lawley is a wonderfully diverse community, and we know that learning and career pathways aren’t always straightforward. Many local residents face challenges that can make training or employment feel out of reach, such as:

• Frequent moves and disrupted education, especially for military families
• Feeling socially isolated or finding it hard to access steady work
• Financial pressures, age-related challenges, or personal circumstances

That’s why ANTA got in touch with us — to work together and create learning opportunities that are accessible, supportive, and designed around real lives.

What this initiative offers
• Free, accredited qualifications to help improve job prospects and self-confidence
• Flexible and inclusive learning, suitable for different ages, backgrounds, and needs
• A chance to meet others and feel more connected within the community
• Clear support and guidance into further training, apprenticeships, or employment

Courses you can sign up for now
• Customer Service
• Food Safety in Catering
• Health & Safety in the Workplace
• Health & Safety within a Construction Environment
• Introduction to Mental Health

Courses are tutor-led and can be taken either in a classroom at a local venue or online, depending on what works best for you.
