Celebrating Success: Niles completes construction course

Posted on: 23 Mar 26

Thanks to funding from the Eileen Hewer Community Fund, we’re delighted to congratulate Niles on successfully completing the Level 1 Health & Safety within a Construction Environment course to support his future career.

We’re proud to be working in partnership with ANTA Community Training to offer free courses (up to the value of £200 or £250 for the Introduction to Mental Health for Lawley residents. These opportunities are designed to help individuals gain recognised qualifications, build confidence, and take positive steps towards employment.

Niles’ journey is a great example of what can be achieved with the right support. After a difficult experience at school, he left without academic qualifications and had no interest in pursuing GCSEs. However, he has remained highly motivated, with ambitions to one day run his own construction company.

He is now working towards gaining his CSCS card as soon as he turns 16, enabling him to begin work on a construction site. Through this new partnership, Niles completed the Health & Safety course and passed his exam with an impressive score of 36 out of 40. He has also been supported with exploring potential work experience opportunities with Lovell.

We understand that school isn’t the right environment for everyone. For many, opportunities like these can provide a fresh start—offering practical skills, renewed confidence, and a pathway into employment.
