BVT's courtyard grit services
Posted on: 16 Dec 24
Winter arrived early this year and with it the issues that snow and ice bring. BVT in Lawley are responsible for providing de-icing salt, commonly known as grit, for the courtyard parking areas. Each courtyard is equipped with a grit bin and scoop, allowing users to grit the area to help access in and out.
It’s important to note grit requires some vehicle or foot movement to work effectively. This means residents and visitors must be mindful of the need to move around the area to allow the salt to penetrate the snow or ice. There are around 100 courtyards to service and our caretakers regularly check grit bins but if you notice your bin is low, please report it to [email protected].
Public highways, including footpaths or areas under the control of the Lawley Developer Group are not under our control, however we’re happy to raise any issues with the appropriate agency on behalf of residents. You can raise any queries/concerns by popping into the Lawley Community Hub in Lawley Square (opposite Greggs) or use the email given above.
For residents who wish to go the extra mile and help their community, Telford & Wrekin Council operates a Snow Warden scheme. This scheme provides salt and equipment free of charge to residents who are willing to grit their local area of the village. This is a great way to make a positive impact on your community and ensure that everyone can move around safely during the winter months.
